The funding will directly support our team and help us to deliver vital support for people experiencing financial hardship in the Dacorum area.

Dena Tyler, Manager of Dacorum Community Trust said:

‘We are hugely grateful for the funding from the National Lottery, which will enable us to continue to support the people of Dacorum, who are struggling with the effects of the current cost of living crisis and the impact this has on their families and mental health.

 This funding will allow us to continue to help over 1200 new cases over the next 3 years, enabling us to relieve the pressure people in our community are facing, and get them through the short-term challenges that have a major impact on their lives’.

Over the last week, Tesco customers have generously donated festive treats including mince pies, cakes, puddings, chocolates and selection boxes for Dacorum Community Trust’s clients. The Trust has been overwhelmed, once again, by the generosity and good will Tesco’s customers have shown to their most in need neighbours.

Tesco also donated 200 festive carrier bags, which were packed to the brim by Trust volunteers last week and are now on their way to our clients and other local families who are facing financial distress this Christmas. Thank you to our partner agencies in Dacorum, and their elves, for their help with the distribution.

Tony Williams (Chair of Dacorum Community Trust) expressed his gratitude to Sheldon Dolman (Store  Manager), Tricia Glenister (Community Champion), and all of the staff at Tesco Extra for their support and to Tesco’s customers for their generosity.
